MATTHEW HICKS
I am a creative and passionate Game Designer with 5 years of experience developing games in Unreal Engine with a main focus on player accessibility and enjoyment. I am a third year currently studying for a Bachelor of Science in Games Design, this has led me to have multiple opportunities to work in a team with students from all backgrounds and departments of Games Design, I have gained experience of correct and proper industry pipelines. Throughout the years the puzzle solving side of games design has always made me very enthusiastic about tackling new challenges.

Running numerous structured playtesting sessions with clearly defined testing goals and data analysis. Using external participants.
Thoroughly logging tasks and bugs found during team/solo projects. Effectively communicating this to the appropriate people.
Successfully utilising a knowledge base for collaborators to efficiently gather information dependent on my work.
-Extra program skills that have helped me create a more cohesive project-
I used Maya thoughout my career to add a bit of visuals to my projects, I have previous 3D modelling experience becoming a seller on Sketchfab.
I use Substance Painter to add a bit of character to my projects allowing me to encapsulate the full aesthetic I am going for.
I use Photoshop to create a visual concept of my idea, so pitching can be enhanced with diagrams. I also use it to create VFX textures and decals to enhance my projects.
